NEWTON Mearns girls Hana and Rebecca Sommerville braved the rain this bank holiday Monday in aid of sick children.

The sisters, aged nine and six, held a gala day in their driveway for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Yorkhill, raking in £169.86.

Mum Angela told The Extra: “Both Hana and her brother Adam (2) had routine operations at Yorkhill — Hana then decided that she wanted to raise money for the hospital.

“The kids had some help from friends Blair, Ian, Flynn, Cara, Emma and Siobhan.

“I’m so proud — they don’t realise how much they’ve done.”
