PARTY hats at the ready, as Giffnock library is celebrating its 30th birthday this month.

The facility is opening its doors for a milestone party on Saturday, August 25, with free family events running 11am-3pm.

The day features a special Birthday Bookbug session, as well as party games, crafts, lucky dips and of course, a big birthday cake to mark the occasion.

To celebrate, East Renfrewshire council has put out a call to children to design a special birthday card for Giffnock library.

Entries should be A5 in size, and can be handed into the library until Wednesday (August 22) – the winners will then be announced during the weekend fun day.

To find out more about the Birthday bash bonanza, visit East Ren libraries or call 577 4976.
