Battlefield primary in (fair trade) fashion

STYLISH youngsters at Battlefield primary strutted their stuff recently in the name of fashion — and fair trade.

The school hosted its first fair trade fashion show, with models sporting cotton t-shirts designed by the Fair Trade Committee.

Staff and pupils were treated to hairstyles courtesy of southside salon UConcept, and refreshment stalls were full of fair trade goodies.

Teacher Karen Morrison commented: “This was the finale in a series of events, and we hope we’ve raised awareness and support in the community for fair trade — as well as, hopefully, achieving fair trade status for the school.”
