A league of his own.

GHA stand-off David Scott is leaving to sign a professional rugby league contract with Hull K R, writes Gregor Hollerin.

The 17-year-old has been playing both codes for the last five years — union with GHA during winter, league with Easterhouse Panthers in summer. The youngster told ExtraSport: “I hope to come back to GHA at some point in my career.

“But this is a huge opportunity for me and I am very excited to make an impression at Hull”.

He’s been signed on a six-month contract, which could be renewed depending on his performances. David said: “It’s win-win. If I succeed I will earn another contract and if I don’t, I have a place at Strathclyde university and will come back to play at GHA”.

GHA coach Paul Tyler said: “I’m delighted for him, but gutted for us”.
