Riverside Playgroup celebrates its 30th anniversay next Saturday (June 6) with a family ceilidh.

The event, at South Newlands Church from 4-7pm, is open to all, with a live band, family fun, buffet, raffle and games.

The grown ups will also be able to partake in a wee dram, as well as a soft drinks bar and hot dog stand on offer.

Family tickets (two adults and up to three children) cost £15, while adult tickets are £5 and children £3, with the money raised going towards the running costs and purchase of new equipment for the playgroup, a registered charity.

Kath Woods, Riverside chair, said: “We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 30 year anniversary. It’s a great achievement for any group and is a wonderful testament to the teaching assistants, children and parents who have been involved over the years.

“The Family Ceilidh is a great opportunity to thank everyone who has been associated with the playgroup since it opened 30 years ago, as well as inviting local people along to join in with a good old fashioned knees up.”
