THE search for a pet missing since May 31 has brought a dogged family from Ayrshire to Newton Mearns.

The dog-loving Gormans turned 'tec to try to track down Piper who they believe was abducted from their garden.

Worryingly, the border terrier suffers from colitis and needs urgent vet treatment.

Mum-of-three Tracy is trying to reunite her d
aughters and cat with Piper, and has turned intrepid investigator to pursue the pooch across four counties.

The trail has now led to East Renfrewshire, where the latest person to take care of the dog is believed to be a woman called Sandra.

She evidently picked up the dog from a home in East Kilbride, after the animal was advertised in a supermarket in Lindsayfield.

Mrs Gorman said: "We know Piper was picked up by a lady called Sandra from Newton Mearns (who) had responded to an advert she'd seen in an East Kilbride Morrison's.

"We're hoping Extra readers will know Sandra, or she'll be a reader herself, so we can get Piper back.

"The heart's been ripped out of our family since he was taken".
Tracy thinks the terrier was lured from their garden by someone with chocolate while her daughters played outside.

Piper's then believed to have been taken to Coatbridge, before being advertised on a classified advertising website.

A woman from East Kilbride picked him up, but after discovering Piper's ailment, is said to have returned him to Coatbridge, believing him to be suffering from separation anxiety.

He wasn't returned and after the supermarket advert, has wound up, the Gormans think, in Newton Mearns.

Tracy said: "I'd do anything to get him back, donate a kidney, whatever, you name it. That's how much we're missing him.

"He slept beside our cat and he won't go near the bed since Piper's gone."

If you can help trace Piper call The Extra on 0141 419 4245.
