THE 2nd Glasgow Scouts welcomed more than the sunshine at their autumn family fun day.
The Pollokshields group were raising money for the renovation of the Glencairn Drive scout hall on Saturday, and invited family and friends to take part in a day of games, yoga, face painting, cookery demonstrations and more.
The children raised over £1,500 for the cause – but more importantly for the organisers, lots of fun was had.
Leaders Grant and Claire Macaulay told The Extra: “We have also managed to get the involvement of enough young people to start our scout section, and made contacts in the area, aiming to ensure that scouting is available to all.
“We have so many people to thank for making it such a successful day. Thank you all for your donations and for coming along on the day.
“With your continued support, the group will be a shining example of what young people can contribute to our society, while having a boatload of fun at the same time”.
The 2nd Glasgow Scouts will follow up the fun day with a Christmas evening on November 29.
