GIFFNOCK man Michael Kent has this year proved that he would walk 500 miles (and 500 more) for charity.
The southsider has spent six months working towards a 1,000 mile walking target in aid of the Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children (SNAC), and is on track to raise £1,000 by the end of 2012.
Michael was inspired to take on the challenge following the diagnosis of his own son, Jonathan, with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). The fundraiser reached a halfway mark of 500 miles recently at Balloch train station, and has tallied up £635 so far.
