Woman’s body found in house by relatives

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman’s body was discovered in her home.

Angela Humphrey (48) was found by relatives in her flat in Quarrywood Avenue, Barmulloch, on Wednesday at around 4.40pm.

Police said Ms Humphrey lived alone and had not been seen since last Friday, February 21, in Sandyhills.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to establish her whereabouts since then.

She is known to frequent Springburn Shopping Centre and a tanning salon in Springburn Way.

Detective Inspector Allan Burton, major investigation teams, said: “Angela had not been seen since last Friday around 1pm in Balbeggie Street, Sandyhills.

“Relatives who had not seen her for a couple of days and concerned that she had not been in touch with them, discovered her body within her home.

“We are obviously very keen to establish her whereabouts between last Friday and when she was found yesterday afternoon.

“Officers are currently carrying out door to door enquiries in the area and checking local CCTV to establish her last movements.”

Ms Humphrey is described as white, around 5ft 4ins, of medium build, with shoulder length black hair. She was wearing black framed glasses, black trousers, black and white trainers and a cream and black three quarter length hooded ‘Parka’ type coat.
