CAR boot sale at Netherlee primary school, organised by the PTA. 9-11.30am in the car park. Pre-paid ticket event for school members only.

FAIR held by the parent council at Our Lady of the Annunciation primary. Stalls, fire engine, tombola and more from 10am until 12.30pm at the Merrylee school. Donations welcome.

COFFEE morning and bric a brac sale, courtesy of EROS, at Clarkston hall. DVDs, books, flowers, cakes and more from 10am-1pm, and tickets cost £3 (£1.50 concession).

COMMUNITY fair held at Clincarthill parish church. Silent auctions, stalls, bouncy castle and a wide range of local groups present 10am-2pm.

SUMMER fair at Braidbar primary. Great fun for all ages from 1.30-3.30pm. Costs £2.50 for adults (include tea/coffee and biscuit) and entry is free for children.

GIFFNOCK scout hall hosts the 28th Glasgow Scout group summer fete. Fun family day out running 2-4pm, and entry is free.

BACK to school with Miss Baxter at the Scotland Street school museum. Actress-led re-enactment of a WWII lesson for ages 5+. 2-3pm, and costs £2 (u16s £1.50). Places are limited, so please arrive early.

NATURE workshop at Dams to Darnley country park – this week, Be Nice to Nettles, exploring the much-maligned plant and the 40 species of insects and butterflies they support. 1-3pm. Free event.

ANIMAL stories from around the world at a Rudyard Kipling workshop held at the Burrell Collection. 2pm start, free to join. To find out more, call 287 2550.

VINTAGE fair at Tusk, Shawlands. Doors open for Afternoon Twee’s first birthday celebration from 12.30pm, and entry is free. Children’s activities throughout.

ORCHESTRAL concert for Kwenderana. Popular classics conducted by Ross Gunning, at Greenbank parish church from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5.
