OWL Magic at Whitelee windfarm. Meet Titch – a pigmy owl – and learn more about him and his friends at the visitor centre in Eaglesham. 12noon-4pm. Free event.

Sunday April 8

TALK with the animals at The Avenue today, as the mini farm visits Newton Mearns. Pygmy goats, lambs, pot-bellied pigs and Easter chicks to hold and touch from 12noon until 4pm. Free event.

EASTER concert in support of Isobel Mair school. Gospel Glee is on at the Newton Mearns baptist church from 5.30-7.30pm, and entry is free.

Monday April 9

FREE health walk through Queen’s Park. 11am-noon, starting at the New Victoria hospital. Same event takes place on Wednesday at Pollokshaws library and Thursday from Pollokshields health shop. Times vary. To find out more, call 276 8770.

Tuesday April 10

STORYTELLING at Waterstones in Newton Mearns, hosted by Badger the Mystical Mutt. From 1-3pm, and for ages 4-9. free to join.

HOCKEY taster session at the Giffnock tennis, squash and hocket club. Learn to pass, shoot and dribble for free. 1-3.30pm for ages 4-14. Please bring a waterproof jacket, water and, if possible, shin pads. No booking needed — just turn up and play for free.
