Tantalising taste of terror

HALLOWEEN falling midweek means that the freaks come out even earlier this year — this weekend, to be precise.

But there’s one party on this side of the river where dressing up is always in fashion — in fact, they won’t let you in without it.

The world’s biggest burlesque night has been enticing Glaswegian fun-seekers for years, offering both a stage show and a club.

The annual Halloween event is legendary for the most opulent costumes in town — and that’s just on the punters.

This year includes live music from regular Lou Hickey and DJ sets from Loveless and Poprock.

Then there are the acts: Vanity Kills in I’ve Got You Under My Skin, the Great Aldo in Voodoo Doll, Chelsea Dagger in Ghosts...the list goes on.

Expect beautiful women of all shapes and sizes, spectacular dancers and the odd tongue-in-cheek horror show — as well as a room full of delightfully demonic fancy dress fans.

The rule is no jeans or t-shirts and otherwise anything goes — officially time to let your freak flag fly then.

n Club Noir is on at the O2 Academy on Saturday (October 27), 9pm-3am. Tickets £15.50, from 0844 477 2000.
