AUDIENCES for the 25th anniversary show of The Steamie will be able to catch a glimpse of life in the wash house — and not just on stage.
The King’s Theatre show is to coincide with an exhibition of unpublished work by Glasgow photographer Allan Bovill.
His pictures feature three city steamies – then located in Parnie Street, Woodvale Street and in Anderston – each taken in 1986.
The photos will go on display for the first time ever in honour of Tony Roper’s play reaching a milestone year, and are free to view from one hour before the performance and during the interval.
The exhibition is on in the Matcham Room, accessible via the main box office entrance, and will run until May 5 — although please note that there are stairs, and so it may not be accessible to those with access requirements.
