On song for charity

CHARITY is the name of the game at Eastwood Park Theatre this Tuesday, as a Glasgow-born tenor and Clarkston choir take to the stage in aid of Mary’s Meals.

The Opera Experience is set to be an evening of beautiful music, headlined by up-and-coming musical talent Martin Aelred alongside the Sounds International Choir.

Martin began his career as a singer in Bel Canto, and Tuesday is a chance to sign dramatic and lyrical pieces from the world’s greatest operas, all accompanied by classical guitar.

The 100-strong choir – who rehearse in nearby Clarkston – are Martin’s special guests, and each promises a magical experience all for a good cause.

And what better way to celebrate the approach of Christmas than with a night of culture and music – and a chance to give to charity too?

The Opera Experience begins at 7.30pm at Eastwood Park Theatre, and tickets cost £10 from 577 4956. More information on the Sounds International Choir is available at www.singglasgow.co.uk.
