The Return of AudioAlysis

SABBATICAL, break, down-time, call it what you will, but AudioAlysis are back.

The East Ren rockers have re-united and are preparing to record the second half of their album next month.

After more than a year pursuing other projects, singer Michael Oakley contacted guitarist Stuart Scott after penning four new tracks over the summer.

He explained: "After I'd written the four, Stuart and I got together to look at them, we've managed to get another two written so the six are going to be added to half a dozen from our time before the break to create an album."

That'll be peddled online once it's recorded in December and will feature new bass player Colin McIntosh, as well as Michael, Stuart and drummer Steven McLay.

Online is the new focus for Audioalysis, who became jaded with gigging around the Glasgow scene. Michael explained: "Online is such a huge area to market yourself, it's accessible to everyone, so we'll be selling the album on there.

Michael, who's also involved in wedding band The Unknowns, addedd: "The year off was really good for everyone and freshened things up. Before we'd been gigging around the Glasgow venues and got sick of playing the same old places to the same old faces.

"If you're not getting any exposure, what's the point?

"Looking back I think its better not gigging around tiring yourselves out when you can market the band online."

However, that's not to say Audioalysis won't ever be a live band again.

"We've been to The Shed's live Thursday nights and I've been impressed with what they do there - that's a possibility in the future. We just won't be traipsing around the circuit anymore."

AudioAlysis describe themselves as an electronic rock band and are investigating linking up with local video producer Pete Fullerton in the future.

They've had song purchases throughout Europe, particularly in Germany and Sweden.

What does it sound like?... Well they're inspired by Ulrich Schnauss, Depeche Mode, Enigma, Take That, Genesis/Phil Collins and Slowdive.

You can make up your own mind as a selection of tracks are available on iTunes.
