Scottish star heads south
Hanging around: the Glasgow star waits for filming to commence.
FILM star James McAvoy descended on the southside today (Friday) along with the cast and crew of his latest film, Filth.
The Port Glasgow-born actor stars in the film adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel, as corrupt police officer Bruce Robertson.
The team have been filming in Edinburgh throughout the week, but chose Nithsdale Road in Pollokshields for Friday’s scenes.
Although parking in the area was limited, the street remained open and crowds gathered to watch the film crew set up.
Filth — which James McAvoy has previously commented is “the biggest risk” of his career — is due for release later this year.

It’s one of many recent films shot in Glasgow, following visits from Brad Pitt, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson throughout 2011.
