Thursday is Guy Fawkes night.
And Glasgow Green will be the site of Scotland's largest organised fireworks display.
The free night will celebrate Glasgow's recent award of UNESCO city of music status with a display timed to hits from Simple Minds, The Fratellis, Franz Ferdinand and Deacon Blue.
More than 3,000 fireworks will explode over the People's Palace and the event has been 10 months in the planning.
Lord Provost Bob WInter will have the honour of throwing the switch.
He said: "I am very much looking forward to our annual fireworks display.
"Rockets race into the sky and aerial shells explode above our head as thousands of excited people join me for what is undoubtedly one of the most-loved events on Glasgow's cultural calendar".
The fun begins at 6.30pm with a warm-up from George Bowie, before the display itself at 7.30pm.
The GHA RFC at Braidholm is holding its annual display with gates opening at 6pm.
There will be a mini rugby display and a performance from Jammers Cheerleaders.
The fireworks beting at 7.15pm and entry is 5 for adults, 2.50 for children and free for under-5s.
In Paisley, the events begin at 6pm in Gauze Street.
The free A Night at the Movies celebration is being held for the first time in the town centre.
Former X-Factor contestants, The Dolly Rockers will provide live entertainment and the Radio Clyde roadshow will be hosted by Gina McKee.
The display itself begins at 7.30pm and free parking will be available in all council car parks.
