A tale of two guvnors (and one servant)

editorial image

COMEDIAN Rufus Hound swaps the small screen for the stage this week as One Man, Two Guvnors comes to town.

The television personality has assumed the lead role in the show’s autumn tour, which rolls into the Theatre Royal on Tuesday.

The new production — based on Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy, The Servant of Two Masters — has been garnering positive reviews since it opened on Broadway in April this year.

Audiences follow the highs and lows of Francis Henshall, fired from his skiffle band and picked up by a small time crook (or rather, someone pretending to be him) to collect £6,000 in Brighton.

On the way, Francis sees a chance to pick up a second gig, with a man who happens to be connected to the first.

It’s easy enough: do both jobs, keep both guvnors apart — but can he manage it?

There’s only one way to find out...

n One Man, Two Guvnors runs at the Theatre Royal November 13-17. Performances 7.30pm with Thurs and Sat matinee shows at 2.30pm.

Tickets £12-£29.50 from 0844 871 7647.
