28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scout's jumble sale hits record numbers

The 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scout Group held a hugely successful annual jumble sale on Saturday, October 6 attracting over 600 people and raising more than £8000 to support learning and adventures for young people.

It was really down to the efforts of the local East Renfrewshire community who once again donated a wealth of exciting items for reuse.

In addition a number of other charities including Shelter benefited from unsold items.

There were many bargains and the collector’s corner proved really popular with avid bargain hunters.

Tim from Facebook (first time buyer) summed up the overall view of those who came: “Came along today and spent lots of money on great items, thank you.

“Please pass on my congratulations to all the volunteers, who despite the crowds, managed to smile and cope extremely well.

“Will certainly be coming to your 3rd of November nearly new and book sale.”
