Spare a stitch

A PROJECT connecting elderly East Renfrewshire residents with school children is in need of help.

The Stitch Through Time initiative, run by the Kirkton Service, pairs older people with school groups, in order to educate the younger generation in the art of knitting.

The project is in need of unwanted knitting needles and wool, which will be used by project users both nine and 90, and transformed into teddy bears.

All donations are welcome at the Kirkton Service – based at Barrhead health and care centre – and you can find out more by contacting 800 7070.
