FREEMASONS from Eaglesham handed over a bumper cheque recently in aid of youngsters sufferering from cerebral palsy.

The village lodge raised £3,687 for Bobath Scotland – a Glasgow-based charity which supports people living with the illness, and works to improve their quality of life.

The fundraising – gathered through a series of events, including a charity golf day, curry karaoke evening and sportsman’s dinner – was dedicated to 19-year-old Dominic O’Neill, from Newton Mearns, who has been attending Bobath therapy sessions since he was 18 months old.

Alan told The Extra: “Altogether this year, Lodge Eaglesham has raised more than £8,000 for outside charities with the money going to causes as varied as Breast Cancer UK, Erskine Hospital and Cosgrove Care, as well as Bobath Scotland.
“We see it as an important part of freemasonry, to help the community in this way, and are very grateful to all the people who supported us”.
