Flashmob descends for Children in Need

CHILDREN in Need may have been and gone, but Clarkston guides are keeping the party going – in the middle Glasgow’s city centre, no less.

A group of 33 youngsters entertained shoppers recently when they started flashmobs in the St Enoch centre, George Square and Buchanan Street.

The girls started the surprise dance at each location before encouraging spectators to join in – and they were even joined by Pudsey bear.

An event in planning for seven months and with full permission from Glasgow city council and Strathclyde Police, it raised £300 for Children in Need – and the girls are still collecting cash.

Guide leader Halina Sawicki commented: “The girls worked really hard to prepare for this.

“St Enochs and George Square were pretty quiet but by the time we got to Buchanan Street it was buzzing.

“The girls were asking people to join in and really put their all into it – it was really good fun”.
