CALLING all kids – the second annual Children’s Diversity fun day takes place in Giffnock this week.

The event – aimed at teaching children about different cultures – has been organised in partnership with various East Ren faith communities.

It runs at the Maccabi youth and sports centre, 2-5pm on Sunday, and offers the chance for children of P5-7 age the chance to taste new food, dress up and learn traditional dances.

Participants will also paint mugs to take home, and take part in team games and tug o’ war.

Sue Faber, operations manager for Maccabi GB Scotland, told The Extra: “The Children’s Diversity fun day is a wonderful way to learn about different cultures and faith traditions.

“This event has been organised by a unique partnership between faith communities. Promoting greater understanding and building relationships has been a strong feature of the work.

“Youth leaders and volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds will support the event”.

The event is free to join, and you can book a place by contacting the Maccabi centre on 638 6177 or info@maccabigbscotland.org.
