SEVEN teams from across East Renfrewshire competed with Lenzie Youth Club at St Cadoc's second annual football festival on Sunday.

A crowd of more than 200 saw St Cadoc's beat Eastwood on penalties after a tight game. Ex-Celtic star Charlie Nicholas presented the winners' trophy. Southside Utd also claimed the fair play trophy.

St Cadoc's youth club chairman, Mark Thomson said: "As a progressive youth club we were very pleased with the success of the tournament which we hope to expand next year. We now have mopre than 200 kids from across East Renfrewshire, aged five to 13, all learning from SFA-qualified coaches".

The club hope to run two under-14 teams next year and more players are required. An open trial for boys born in 1995 or later will take place at Woodfarm Astro on Thursday June 19 at 7.30pm or contact coaches Liam (07714 979 829) or Paul (07711 348 893).
