IN A match that went to penalties, Busby B under-12s emerged victorious against Mossend BC in the EKBFA league cup final
Earlier it was a different story after a great strike by Mossend in the first half and despite dominating possession and chances, Busby went in at half time trailing 1-0.

The breakthrough came after an even start to the second half, with a well-wo
rked throw-in followed by a superb solo run and finish from captain Andy MacMillan.

Despite pressure from Busby, the teams were locked at 1-1 until 10 minutes to go when Mossend struck again through a powerful shot in the top corner from just inside the penalty box. In the last two minutes of normal time, however, the referee blew for a penalty and top scorer Robbie Hannah stepped up and lashed it into the roof of the net making it 2-2.

Two tired teams fought out extra time with Stuart Moir and Brian Peacock going close for Busby. However, the match was destined to go to a penalty shoot out.

Mossend went first, with Busby goalkeeper Robbie Dinnen saving from a weak shot then Mossend followed Brian Peacock's well-placed penalty with another miss.

Andy Macmillan, Robbie Hannah and Stuart Moir all coolly dispatched their kicks to mean that Busby won the cup without Calum Murphy having to take the fifth penalty.

There wasn't a bad player on the park, however Gregor Mcinnes, Robbie Hannah and Andy MacMillan were especially tireless.
